The reason the tracing failed, is that you arent tracing a bitmap image, rather you were attempting to trace a vector shape. If I select the shape with the arrow it seems just one line. Even the img is just a fine line, it makes two vector lines: one for the outside border of the original shape and another for the inside border. Crop the flag in a bitmap editor (GIMP, Paint.NET, Photoshop, etc.) to its exact rectangular size. To use the tracer, load or import an image, select it, and select the PathTrace Bitmap item, or Shift+Alt+B. 3 I opened one PNG file in Inkscape and exported it as SVG. Your rectangle already is in vector format, all you need to do is save it as an SVG. I try to convert to vector: Inkscape > Path > Trace Bitmap. ![]()
